Our Meetings

The Sandy Watercolor Guild was formed in 2003 to promote and advance watermedia art among the upcoming and established artists  of the Salt Lake Valley. It does so by holding monthly education meetings, organizing workshops. and holding exhibitions that display members’ art achievements.

The meetings are usually held evenings on the third Thursday of the month (August ~ May) at 9310 South 1300 East, Sandy, Utah (the Sandy Senior Center building) beginning at 6:30 p.m.  The normal feature is a demonstration by some outstanding water media artist helping to expand members’ knowledge and skills in water media. We have exciting guests who teach us something on a very personal level. Our group is small and questions are encouraged.

Since 2004, the Guild has organized and held an annual juried spring show in March, welcoming submissions from area water media artists and awarding prizes. The opening reception and the month-long exhibit that follows  are held at the main gallery of the Sandy Senior Center. Works may be exhibited either for sale or not for sale.

In addition, the Guild organizes low cost workshops, where with help of outstanding local artist-teachers, members and guests have the opportunity to enhance their skills.
