ARTAPALOOZA

 AUGUST 1-31

This is a no entry fee no restriction, fun exhibit  of works for and not for sale.

Held at the Sandy Senior Center.

We'll do intake at the Sandy Senior Center on Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment. Take down and recovery will be on Wed. Aug. 31 in the morning.

Karla Nye at kfnye@msn.com will be available for special arrangements as needed.

IWe hope we'll see something from everyone! Remember, we're not being fussy at all about what you may wish to hang. Any medium, any size, any style; we're disgustingly easy, and there's no fee this time. It's not a contest, just a fun show.

 


 

Sandy Art Show -- November 2011

Rules of Entry

  1. The Guild accepts submissions of art in the following art  categories: Oil/Acrylic, Watercolor, Photography, Clay Art, and  Sculpture.
  2. Art is submitted on Friday, November 4th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Sandy Senior Center.
  3. The Exhibitor submits the following art work for jury and  selection by the Sandy Art Show Committee. If selected, the art work  will be publicly exhibited as part of the Sandy Art Show at the Sandy  Senior Center located at 9310 South 1300 East, Sandy, UT. The Sandy Art  Show events include:
    • Gala – Monday, November 7, 7:00 PM
    • Exhibit - November 8-11, 8 AM to 8 PM and November 12, 10 AM to 2 PM
    • People's Choice voting – Monday, November 7, 7 PM through Thursday, November 10, 8 PM
    • People's Choice posted – Friday, November 11, Noon
    • Take down – Saturday, November 12, 2-5 PM.
  4. Any Utah resident 18 years and older, or high school senior in the Canyons School District, is eligible to enter.
  5. A maximum of three pieces may be submitted per Exhibitor. Online entry fee is $15 for all pieces entered and must be paid with a credit  card at the time of registration. On-site registration is $20 for the  first piece and $15 for each additional piece and payment can be made  with credit card, cash or check. Make checks payable to the Sandy Arts  Guild. No on-site registration discounts are given.
  6. Three dimensional items may not exceed 60" tall and  43" wide. Two dimensional items must be framed and include hanging wire. Maximum width should not exceed 45" with no height limitations. Maximum weight may not exceed 30 pounds.
  7. Submitted entries shall be labeled (on the back or the bottom) with artist's name, title, phone number and sale price/NFS.
  8. All juried items selected for the exhibit shall conform to the rules published online at www.sandyarts.com.
  9. The Exhibitor warrants that items submitted are original works of art to which he/she is entitled copyright protection.
  10. If work is sold, the buyer must contract directly with the  Exhibitor. Payment of sales tax is the personal responsibility of the  Exhibitor. The Guild will not retain any sales commission.
  11. The Exhibitor will not remove art work during the exhibit. Work  can be retrieved on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 2 – 5 PM. The Sandy Arts Guild is not responsible for artwork left after November 12, 2011, 5 PM. An official claim check must be presented to pick up artwork.
  12. The Guild and news media shall have the right to photograph or  video items on exhibit for the purpose of marketing and the keeping of  historical records.
  13. All artwork will be handled with great care, however, the Guild  and members of the selection committee are not responsible for broken  glass or other losses.

 

Spring Watercolor Show, March 2012

Sandy Watercolor Guild exhibits selected works of its members during the month of March at the Sandy Senior Center Gallery.

The exhibits may be viewed weekdays  8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 9310 S 1300 E, Sandy

 

Spring Show Entry Rules

 

1. The Exhibitor may submit  two (2) original  pieces of his/her watercolor art work for selection by the jury at the Sandy Senior Center located at 9310 South 1300 East, Sandy, UT.

2.  A $10 fee for each entered piece  must be paid at the time of registration.  . Payment in cash or checks at site registration. Guild members receive  a $5  credit for participation in the show. All checks should be written to the Sandy Senior Center Advisory Council.

3. Submitted items must be framed and include hanging wire. Maximum width and depth should not exceed 33”x33”.

4. Submitted entries shall be labeled (on the back or the bottom) with artist's name, title, phone number and sale price/NFS.

5. Art will be judged for originality, composition, esthetic appeal ,and technical execution.

6. All items submitted must be original works of art to which the Exhibitor is entitled copyright protection.

7. If work is sold, the buyer must contract directly with the Exhibitor. Payment of sales tax is the personal responsibility of the Exhibitor. Neither the Guild or the Center will not retain any sales commission.
